Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative from Monviso Trek will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you will have a briefing about the trek, and in the evening, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub known for its shops, cafes, and cultural sites. Early morning, we embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dhap, which takes about 8 to 9 hours. The drive offers stunning views of terraced fields, traditional villages, and lush green hills. Upon reaching Dhap, we will rest and prepare for the trek ahead. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Dhap.

Our trekking adventure begins as we follow a beautiful trail through rhododendron forests and traditional Sherpa settlements. The view of Everest and surrounding peaks starts to appear in the distance, making this an exciting day. We reach Jhapre, a peaceful village known for its monastery and beautiful mountain views. The trail today is a mix of steep ascents and gentle climbs through forests and yak pastures. As we approach Pikey Peak Base Camp, the scenery becomes more breathtaking, offering panoramic views of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and other peaks. We start early in the morning with a short yet rewarding hike to Pikey Peak, one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region. From the summit, we witness a magical sunrise over the Himalayas, with Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu dominating the skyline. After soaking in the views, we descend towards Junbesi, a charming Sherpa village rich in culture and history. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Junbesi.

Today is a relaxed day as we explore Junbesi, one of the most picturesque villages in the Solu region. We visit the Thupten Chholing Monastery, a significant Buddhist site home to hundreds of monks and nuns. The serene environment and chanting rituals provide a unique spiritual experience. Leaving Junbesi, we trek through lush forests and traditional villages while enjoying continuous mountain views. After crossing a scenic pass, we reach Taksindu, a peaceful village with an ancient monastery. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Taksindu.

We begin our ascent toward the remote and less-traveled route leading to Dudhkunda Lake. The trail passes through alpine meadows and yak pastures, offering a tranquil trekking experience. Saharsbeni serves as our overnight stop before heading to Dudhkunda. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Saharsbeni.

A challenging yet rewarding day as we hike up to the sacred Dudhkunda Lake, nestled at the base of the Numbur Himal. Considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists, this glacial lake is believed to have spiritual and purifying powers. After exploring the surroundings and enjoying the serene beauty, we return to Saharsbeni for the night. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Saharsbeni.

We retrace our steps back to Taksindu, taking in the breathtaking landscapes and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Himalayas. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Taksindu.

Today’s trek takes us to Phaplu, a small but important town in the Solukhumbu region. Phaplu has a small airport and serves as a hub for travelers. We celebrate the completion of our trek with a farewell dinner. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Phaplu.

After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive back to Kathmandu. Along the way, we reflect on our incredible journey through the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will have free time to relax, shop for souvenirs, or explore the city. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Today is a buffer day in case of any delays. You can explore Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa, or simply relax at a café.
