Overview

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. This trek takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush green forests to arid high-altitude deserts. It also provides an opportunity to experience the unique culture of different ethnic groups, including Gurungs, Thakalis, and Manangis. The trek is known for its stunning mountain views, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare.

Organized by Monviso Trek, this adventure covers a distance of approximately 160–230 km, depending on the route taken. The journey usually takes around 12–18 days to complete. One of the main highlights of the trek is crossing the Thorong La Pass, which stands at an altitude of 5,416 meters. This is the highest point of the trek and offers incredible panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Along the way, trekkers pass through charming villages, ancient monasteries, and picturesque valleys. The route follows the Marsyangdi River in the beginning and later descends along the Kali Gandaki River. Monviso Trek ensures that trekkers are well-prepared and guided by experienced professionals to make the journey safe and enjoyable. Accommodation is provided in teahouses, allowing trekkers to rest and experience the warm hospitality of the locals.

The best time to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer stable weather, clear skies, and pleasant temperatures. Winter trekking is also possible but can be challenging due to heavy snowfall at higher elevations. Monviso Trek provides detailed itineraries and necessary trekking permits, ensuring a hassle-free experience for adventurers.

Overall, the Annapurna Circuit Trek is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that combines natural beauty, cultural exploration, and physical challenge. With the support of Monviso Trek, trekkers can enjoy a well-organized journey, taking in the majestic Himalayan scenery while immersing themselves in the local traditions. Itinerary

You will arrive in Kathmandu, where a representative from Monviso Trek will welcome you and take you to your hotel. After some rest, we will have a briefing about the trek. You can explore the city and prepare for the journey ahead.

We start with a scenic drive to Besisahar and continue by jeep to Dharapani, a beautiful village in the Annapurna region. Overnight stay at a teahouse.

The trek begins with a steady climb through forests, passing waterfalls and small villages. We reach Chame, the district headquarters of Manang, where we can enjoy views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.

The trail continues through forests and narrow valleys, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. We reach Pisang, a beautiful village with traditional Tibetan-style houses.

We follow the trail through Upper Pisang, which offers breathtaking views of Annapurna and other peaks. As we approach Manang, the landscape becomes drier, resembling a high-altitude desert.

To adjust to the altitude, we spend a rest day in Manang. We can explore the village, visit monasteries, or hike to Gangapurna Lake for stunning mountain views.

We gradually ascend to Yak Kharka, passing through alpine meadows and yak pastures. The air gets thinner, so we walk at a slow pace to adjust to the altitude.

A short but challenging trek takes us to Thorong Phedi, the base of Thorong La Pass. We rest early to prepare for the next day’s big climb.

We start early in the morning to cross Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek. The climb is challenging but rewarding, with spectacular views. After reaching the top, we descend to Muktinath, a sacred temple for Hindus and Buddhists.

We descend through the Kali Gandaki Valley, passing Kagbeni, a beautiful village with Tibetan influence. We continue to Jomsom, a windy town famous for its apple orchards.

We take a short and scenic flight to Pokhara. After arrival, you can relax by Phewa Lake and explore the city.

We drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. Upon arrival, you can spend the evening shopping or exploring the city.

Our journey ends as we transfer you to the airport for your departure. Monviso Trek thanks you for trekking with us and hopes to see you again for another adventure!
