Itinerary

You arrive in Kathmandu, where a team member from Monviso Trek will pick you up and take you to your hotel. You can rest or explore the city. In the evening, we have a briefing about the climb.

We take an early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. From there, we begin our trek to Paiya, walking through forests and crossing small streams.

We continue through dense forests and small Sherpa villages. The trail has some ups and downs, but the beautiful scenery makes the trek enjoyable.

The trek continues through rhododendron forests and terraced fields. We also get the first views of Mera Peak on the way to Ningsow.

We enter the Makalu Barun National Park, home to rare animals like the red panda. The trail has both steep ascents and easy descents.

Today’s trek follows the Hinku River. We walk through bamboo and pine forests before reaching Kothe, a small village surrounded by mountains.

The trail climbs higher as we move deeper into the Hinku Valley. We pass Buddhist monasteries and enjoy views of Kusum Kanguru and Mera Peak.

We hike up to Khare, the last settlement before Mera Peak Base Camp. The air is thinner, so we walk slowly to adjust to the altitude.

We take a rest day to prepare for the climb. Our guides will train us in ice climbing and using climbing gear like crampons and ropes.

We hike on rocky trails and glaciers to reach high camp. The temperature drops, but the sunset over Everest and Makalu makes the effort worth it.

We start climbing before dawn, using ropes and crampons for the final ascent. After reaching the summit, we celebrate with breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. We then descend back to Khare.

After the climb, we trek downhill to Kothe. The lower altitude makes walking easier, and we enjoy a relaxing evening.

We ascend again through forests and mountain ridges. The trail offers stunning views of Mera Peak and other peaks.

We cross the Zatrwa La Pass (4,600m) before descending back to Lukla. We celebrate the successful climb with our team.

A short flight takes us back to Kathmandu. You can relax, explore the city, or buy souvenirs.

Your journey with Monviso Trek ends. We drop you at the airport for your flight home, filled with amazing memories.
