The Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek is an adventurous journey in western Nepal, taking you to the foot of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), the seventh-highest mountain in the world. This trek is perfect for those who love remote and challenging routes, offering stunning landscapes, glaciers, and high mountain passes. The trail passes through deep valleys, dense forests, and traditional villages before reaching the high-altitude Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,740m).

Itinerary

You will arrive in Kathmandu, where the team from Monviso Trek will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. You can explore the city or rest before the adventure begins.

A scenic drive from Kathmandu to Beni, the starting point of the trek. The journey takes around 8–9 hours, passing through beautiful hills, rivers, and local villages. Overnight stay in Beni.

The trek officially starts today. You will walk along the Myagdi River, passing through charming villages and terraced fields. A gentle trek to Babiachor, where you will stay overnight.

Today’s trek continues through lush forests and small settlements. You will reach Dharapani, a small village offering stunning mountain views.

A steep climb takes you to Muri, a traditional Magar village. The trail offers breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri and other peaks. Overnight in Muri.

The trail becomes more challenging as you pass through dense forests and remote landscapes. You will reach Boghara, a small village surrounded by nature.

The path gets more adventurous, with river crossings and forest trails. You will arrive at Dobang, where the Himalayan views become more spectacular.

A thrilling day as you trek to the Italian Base Camp, where you get the first close-up view of Dhaulagiri. You will camp here and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

To adjust to the high altitude, you will spend the day resting and exploring around Italian Base Camp. A short hike can be done for better acclimatization.

Today’s trek is tough as you cross glacial moraines and rugged trails. You will reach Glacier Camp, surrounded by massive icefalls and snowy peaks.

A challenging but rewarding trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp, where you will be greeted with an incredible view of the world’s seventh-highest peak. Overnight camping here.

Another day to rest and admire the stunning mountain landscape. You can take short hikes to explore the surroundings.

The most exciting day of the trek! You will cross the French Pass, the highest point of the journey, and descend into the beautiful Hidden Valley.

You will cross Dhampus Pass and descend toward Yak Kharka. The trail offers magnificent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

A long but scenic descent to Jomsom, a famous town in the Mustang region. Here, you can celebrate the successful trek.

A short and scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. You can relax by Phewa Lake and enjoy the vibrant city.

A comfortable drive back to Kathmandu. You can explore the city, do some shopping, or enjoy a farewell dinner with Monviso Trek.

The journey ends as Monviso Trek transfers you to the airport for your flight home, taking with you unforgettable memories of the Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek.
