Itinerary

Your journey begins as you arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital. A representative from Monviso Trek will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. After some rest, you will meet your trekking guide for a briefing about the trek. You can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel in the evening.

Early in the morning, we take a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to Everest. The flight is short but thrilling, offering stunning views of the mountains. Upon landing, we start our trek towards Phakding, passing through small villages and lush green forests. It’s an easy walk today to help us acclimatize.

Today, we enter Sagarmatha National Park, where we register our permits. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several high suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge. After a steep climb, we reach Namche Bazaar, the biggest Sherpa town in the Everest region.

To adjust to the high altitude, we spend a day in Namche. We hike up to Everest View Hotel for a stunning view of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. You can also explore the local market, visit the Sherpa museum, or relax in one of the cozy cafes in town.

The trail offers breathtaking views of Everest and other peaks as we walk through pine forests and rhododendron trees. We reach Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the region. If we are lucky, we may witness the monks chanting in the evening.

We descend through lush forests and cross the Imja River before climbing towards Dingboche. As we gain altitude, the landscape changes, with fewer trees and more rugged terrain. Dingboche is a beautiful village surrounded by massive peaks.

Another rest day to help our bodies adjust to the high altitude. We take a short hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100m) for a panoramic view of the Himalayas, including Makalu, Lhotse, and Island Peak. After the hike, we return to Dingboche and relax.

The trek continues with a steady climb through the Khumbu Glacier moraine. We pass the memorial site at Thukla, dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest. The air gets thinner, but the views get even more spectacular as we reach Lobuche.

Today is the most exciting day of the trek! We start early and walk along the Khumbu Glacier towards Everest Base Camp. Upon arrival, we celebrate our achievement and enjoy the stunning views. After spending some time at Base Camp, we return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Before sunrise, we hike to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint of Everest. The breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas is a magical experience. After taking in the views, we descend to Pheriche, a small village with cozy teahouses.

We retrace our steps through Pangboche and Tengboche, enjoying the beautiful scenery once again. The walk is mostly downhill, making it easier as we return to the lively town of Namche Bazaar.

The final trekking day takes us back to Lukla. It’s a time to celebrate with our team and reflect on the incredible journey. We enjoy our last evening in the mountains.

We take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. After arriving, you have the rest of the day free to explore the city, buy souvenirs, or relax at your hotel.

Your adventure with Monviso Trek comes to an end. Depending on your flight schedule, we transfer you to the airport for your journey home, taking with you unforgettable memories of the Everest Base Camp Trek.
