  Rafting in nepal

A river rafting is one of the best ways to explore Nepal through typical cross section of the country’s natural as well as ethno-cultural heritage. The variety of cultural activities can be witnessed being performed along the river. The adjoining slopes of the river often harbour dense vegetation and interesting wildlife. Several varieties of fishes also abound the Nepalese rivers. Travelling on a river in Nepal is a wonderful experience. The days are warm and the scenery is spectacular. We camp on beautiful beaches that have a new layer of sand deposited on them every monsoon. The friendly local inhabitants are as curious about us as we are about them.

THE SUNKOSHI

This is the longest trip in river; miles offered in Nepal, traversing 270 km through the beautiful Mahabharat Range on its meandering way from the put in at Dolalghat to the take out at Chatara, far down in the Gangetic Plain. It is quite an experience to begin a river trip just 3 hrs. out of Kathmandu, barely 60 km from the Tibet border, and end the trip looking down the hot, dusty gun barrel of the North Indian Plain just a week later. The Sunkoshi reserves some of its biggest and best rapids for the last day. At the right flow it is an incredible combination of whitewater, scenery, villages, and truly quiet and introspective evenings along what many people consider to be one of the world’s top classic river journeys.

Day 1 : 4 hrs. drive to put in point, Dolalghat (57 km.)
Day 1-9 : in the river and take out point Chatara.
