Boudha Nath Stupa

One of the oldesd and the biggest Buddhist Monument ever build in the Himalayan Kingdom. It is 37m high. The Stupa is unique with its three level, mandala style, platforms and constructed in 5th to 6th Century. Thousands of visitors visit early in the morning and evening and during the buddhist festival all buddhist gather to celebrate with great reverance to all buddhist deities. Syowambhnath

A Buddhist Stupa on a western hills of kathmandu. The 2500 years old monument is a holy site replate with symbols. It is also known as Monkey temple. The shrine is bedecked in colourful prayer flags. Symbolic sun or fire, wind, sky, water and soil. Pilgrims and tourists pass to Swayambhunath holy premises through a path of 365 steps.

 

Pashupati Nath Temple

 

Pashupati Nath Temple is considered one of the holiest shrines of all the Hindu temples. It is located east of downtown of Kathmandu near international airport. It is one of the largest Hindu temple complex in south asia with hundred of god shiva lingam shrines and icons hindu god goddeses and unique example of nepalese architecture. Ghat creamation beside of Baghmati river is also attraction of tourist.

 

Kathmandu Durbar Square

It lies near Thamel in heart of the capital and is popularly known as the Hanuman Dhoka palace. These darbar Square is dedicated to different Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Most of the buildings were constructed from the 15th to 18th Centuries. The main attraction of these ares are Taleju Temple, Krishna Temple, Jaganath Temple, Stone Column, Degutalle temple, Hanuman statue (Monkey god), Shiva pravati temple, Big bell, kal bairav temple, maju dewal, Kumari Ghar (living Goddess), Basantapur Darbar, Kasthamandap (wooden building), Dansa etc.

Patan Durbar square

It is situated on  a little plateau across the river Bagmati and located south east of Kathmandu city. Patan is considered one of the oldest city among the three cities of Valley. Finest Buddhist and Hindiest Monuments are in the square or close by the darbar and it founded around 3rd century. The main attraction of these darbar Square are wood, metal and stone carved monuments, Vishwa nath temple, Krishna mandir, Jaganath temple, Harishankar temple, Golden temple, Kumbeswor, mahaboudha (thousand budhha temple), Red macchendranath temple etc.Other features like the four stupas located in the four cardinal directions, were errected by indian Emperor Ashoka .

 

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

This is a unique city located east of kathmandu. It is known as Bhadgoan and city of Devotees. The place very religious and gave importance to their aristic heritage which is evident throughout the city. The attraction part of Bhaktapur Durbar Square are Lion gate, Golden Gate, four pilgrimase sites, 55 windows palace, Vastala temple, Taumadi Square (Nyatapola),Bhariavnath temple, Teel mahadev narayan Temple, Dattatreya square, bhimsen Temple, peacock window etc. One day sighseeing in these palace means to see many different kinds of monuments and arhitectures.

Pharping Guru padma shambav cave

About 28km south of Kathmandu, pharping is a town where ancient Buddhist pilgrimage site have been taken over by large numbers of Tibetans. Pharping lies on the road to Dakshinkali and its easy to visit both villages in a day by local bus or private transport. More buddhist monastries are opening up around here every year. It is the place where Guru Padma Sambav got Enlightent after long meditation before buddist religion practice in Tibet.

Namo Budhha

It is located 45km southeast of kathmandu, Namo buddha is one of the most important Buddhist Pilgrimage site as well as of the holiest palce. It is also called Takmo Lu Jin ( tigers body Generosity) the Namo Buddha stupa marks the site where a young prince encountered a tigers close to starvation and unable to feed her own cubs. Overcome with compassion the prince allowed the tigers to consume him ad thereby feed her cubs. A small shrine a few minutes walk uphill from the stupa contains statues of the prince together with the tigers and her cubs. More one spending here is enough to see holiest place in hilly region.
